Former President Donald Trump donned a new role as he cooked and served french fries at a McDonald’s in Pennsylvania on Sunday afternoon, taking jabs at Vice President Kamala Harris.
As he entered the restaurant, Trump greeted the owner and said, “Hello, everybody. It’s my first day at McDonald’s, I’m looking for a job.”
Thousands of Trump supporters gathered outside as he worked the fry station, following his accusation that Harris had lied about working at a fast food restaurant.
“I’ve really wanted to do this all my life. And now I’m going to do it because she didn’t,” Trump said. He mentioned discussing Kamala Harris’ claim about working at McDonald’s, stating, “She shouldn’t lie about it. McDonald’s confirmed four times that she never worked here. But let’s not dwell on that. It’s an amazing business, an amazing country, and we’re going to make America greater than ever before.”
While donning an apron and cooking fries, Trump spoke to reporters about his call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the need to raise the minimum wage, his experience at McDonald’s, and even wished Kamala Harris a happy birthday.
During his shift, Trump expressed great spirits as he cooked and handed out orders to customers.
“I love McDonald’s, I love jobs, and I appreciate good jobs. I think it’s inappropriate when someone puts down the work they’ve done. I believe that working at McDonald’s was a significant part of her resume,” he said.
